Book Cover Design for Doctors, Therapists and Healthcare Professionals

A well-designed medical book cover does more than illustrate a topic—it establishes credibility. Whether you’re a physician, surgeon, researcher, therapist, nurse, therapist, or healthcare educator, your book should reflect the professionalism and authority behind your work.

For more than 25 years, Book Cover Express has created custom book covers for healthcare professionals, medical organizations, university presses, and self-publishing authors. My work has included covers for publications from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), as well as books covering a wide range of medical and healthcare topics. Every cover is designed by me and I do not use AI-generated artwork.

From patient education guides and clinical references to memoirs, wellness books, and textbooks, I create covers that communicate expertise, build trust with readers, and stand out in a competitive marketplace.

Several book covers I designed for Dr. Raye Bellinger at Sure Thing Press. The brief called for simple, clean designs, with some titles featuring distinctive emblems. These are among my favourite covers to design because they rely on thoughtful typography, strong composition, and carefully crafted visual elements. The text was tested for contrast accessibility before determining the colours. I created the emblems as vector artwork in Adobe Illustrator, designed the front covers in Adobe Photoshop, and assembled the full cover spreads in Adobe InDesign. Every print-ready PDF is checked for printer compliance before delivery, ensuring all book covers are ready for production and avoiding file rejections. As always, no AI was used in the production of these book covers.
